Phantom Thread

Getting to watch this in a theatre was amazing. It's been about 3 years since I last watched it and it's grown on me tenfold since then. This is to me a perfect film. On all fronts. Even though it may not be my favorite movie, it's still mathematically flawless. It's exactly the kind of movie I would want to make. It astounds me how much I love every single aspect of this movie. From the music, the character building and dynamics, the dialogue, the ending, Reynolds, Cyril, Daniel Day, Lesley Manville and the cinematography is legitimately insane. Both in terms of color and composition. Alma is also among my favorite characters of any media. Vicky Krieps is so good at playing her. I want to see her in more stuff. If I were to only analyse this film for the rest of my life, if this was my sole source of inspiration, I think I would become a better creative.  That may be a bit hyperbolic, but right now I think that is true.
