The Lighthouse

This is what people think Shutter Island is. The dynamic between Pattinson and Defoe here is great. Both of them do an amazing job of slipping into insanity and losing their minds. Defoe with his screaming and eyes and Pattinson with his hallucinations and drunken outbursts. The entire movie is basically the story of Prometheus, but set on an island in the 1890s. Howard, like Prometheus, is punished for his incessant want to gain something beyond him; Prometheus for creating fire and Howard for getting up to the lighthouse. So it's cool to see that it all comes full circle with Wake warning Howard about his death and Howard dying by birds eating his insides just like Prometheus. All in all, Howard was haunted by the mussy.
