Pulp Fiction
i hate that this was good
- he really wanted to say the n word- really cool analysis of structure, its 'pulp' nature is really its strongest attribute and i'm not gonna pretend i could come up with anything better- i really love it when a lot of different things in a movie overlap, so the slower bits pay off by elevating the more dense moments- though the pacing jerks you around for better or for worse- because wow, those were some long dialogue sections man- reservoir dogs was better even though it was simpler, mostly because it's more focused and had more interesting character dynamics imo- note from tarantino for slow scenes: if you start to lose the audience, pull out a gun or even just shoot a guy and it pulls people back in (i was desensitized by the end, which kinda worked)- i feel like there's better stuff to fill the less tense scenes than just talking about food but it's iconic so who cares- the mix of genres and parts were cool, but i wish the dialogue reflected it a bit- all the characters kind of talked the same way tonally- those long shots were cool
can we please not take this movie so seriously though, it's very unique and great but it's not life changing (for me)
honestly, for most of this i'd rather just read the script like how i'd love to just listen to oppenheimer (besides samuel jackson's parts bc nobody can beat his delivery)
