This is a good and disturbingly relevant commentary on white supremacy, immigration laws, racism, and systematic oppression. It’s dark, and at times strangely funny and even heartwarming. It’s a look at a dark and divisive America that feels all too close to home. I liked seeing Leonardo DiCaprio play some loser dad, and his character reminded me of my own father. His dynamics with Benicio Del Toro, who played the sensei, and with Chase Infinite, who plays his daughter Willa, were great. Sean Penn walks like he has that gun up his ass the whole movie, but also gives a stellar performance. I really liked the revolutionary element of the story and thought that the world seemed well fleshed out. The story was engaging and kept me guessing. The soundtrack was great. The cinematography was excellent and there were some shots that were just so visually stunning it left me in awe.

Great movie.

The world has been so cruel to dinosaurs. This genuinely made me feel so sad, my babies Visually stunning, informative, and emotional

I honestly would rather be hit by a train than have to watch this movie again. Issues I had with this movie: -the ugly animation -the terrible lip syncing combined with genuinely probably the worst voice acting I’ve ever heard -unrealistic dialogue, who talks like this genuinely? -allusions to curse words? -the character design, especially of Joy, is horrendous. She looks like a little purse chihuahua that was dropped a handful of times. -the starfish, Mrs Wuddly, is the worst characterization of a starfish I’ve ever seen, incredibly inaccurate -also what’s with the names? Why is the main character named Muggles? -Professor Shark is the worst teacher figure I’ve ever seen in media. He knowingly sends children into the deep sea alone? And into possible danger? -the reveal of Mr. Sushi one of the most horrifying things I’ve ever witnessed. And racist? For what fking reason?? Incredibly uncomfortable to watch. -the message is a little heavy handed, I think if it was a little subtler it might be a little digestible. A metaphor, retelling, or allegory would have been a lot more persuasive than 69 minutes of “You need to love Jesus because of this cheesy and lazy lesson.” -possibly problematic Scottish depiction? -something about this film made me feel deeply sad and lonely -way too long for something this bad That being said this movie made me laugh, and had some nice scenery shots I guess.
