This is still the greatest cinematic achievement the world has ever seen. There never has been and never will be another film like Stalker. We've gotten close with the works of Konstantin Lopushansky, but I mean c'mon man it's fucking Stalker. It's. Fucking. Stalker. The most alluring, intoxicating, hypnotic, thought-provoking, desolate, atmospheric, beautiful, ugly, life-affirming, death-confirming, deeply human work of art. And I still don't really understand it. Ehh, maybe on the 5th viewing.
