After Hours
A huge improvement on it's predecersor, Wasted Hours in every single aspect. First of all, instead of following tons of very uninteresting characters this movie, instead, focuses on just one guy who has an incredibly entertaining journy. The atmosphere is much better in this one as well, being very sureal, with great music to add to it. The comedy is also siginicantly improved as this film is a full on dark comedy that doesn't fail to present increasinly absurd and sureal situations for the protagonist to get into which work much better than the 'jokes' of the first movie. Everything that happens to him feels completely unlucky and it is as if every character is gaslighting him and using him when all he wants to do is get home. Honestly I am suprisesed Scorsese decided to make a sequel to a terrible movie nobody cares about but I'm glad he did as he ended up making an amazing movie. This is probably his most underated movie as I don't hear it talked about often, but it's just as good if if not better than his more popular movies like Taxi Driver and Goodfellas. Maybe that's just my bais though as dark comedy may be my favorite genre. I definately need to watch more Scorsese, everything I have seen form him has been absolutely top tier. The Kino Corner could never.
