Yeah we’re bumpin this up to a 5/5. Could not wait to see this again, and as suspected a second watch after understanding the full scope confirms this is yet another masterpiece from Kore-eda. Highly recommend going in completely blind and letting this mystery of sorts pull the rug out from under you time and time again. Unreal writing, performances, score.. just poetic as fuck. easily one of my favs of the decade so far.
