Alien
Was fully expecting to bump this up to 4.5⭐ on rewatch. But sadly, my issues with the film are still just as clear. The characters par Ripley and Ash are all bland and uninteresting which makes it hard to feel anything throughout the Xenomorphs rampage, and the pacing (although intentional) makes the first half of Alien somewhat of a drag to get through whereas the second hour is a breeze and is easily 5⭐ on its own.
Alien is still undoubtedly an amazing film and I'm hoping some of my issues will resolve as I really want to love this film even more than I do. Ripley is a brilliant protagonist and the alien is a truly terrifying foe, which makes all action and horror brilliant to watch.
