This film is a masterpiece, yet a damn handful
Cure exists as its own twisted phenomena, no matter how much I researched this film after watching it I can never decide on the a true interpretation, one darker than the next, I think Kurosawa(not Akira) did this on purpose, the words that I used to describe this film at the beginning are as genuine as I could be, they all work together alongside Kurosawa’s master framing and direction to make something truly unsettling, conspiratorial and something of primal fear.I can’t help but bring up Tarkovsky on his philosophy about how you should want to feel a film before you understand it, to put it simply, he would have had a gold mine with this film.
The more I think about this film the more twisted and sick to my stomach I find myself. I don’t know what else to say about this film but wow.
