The sincere admission that I am not ok with out art
There are many points in life where art is the only genuine force in one’s life. That sublime recognition that someone had depicted part of your soul is something that is beyond a feeling in a moment but something keeps ones organs functioning.
The desire to be in or even near this state is one that is necessary for one to fulfill in the same way that water and food is in many moments of life.
Here is a man who dose not have the means to access this vital state in his curent moment. And so just as someone who is starving must steal food to survive. We see a man put himself closer to art to survive. His method may be unusual unsustainable or even illegal but not wrong.
This sublime state that only art can give is not one that you can mearly sit within and then continue about your life like taking a bath and washing off the dirt. To share this necessary life bringing state with others is just as critical as experience if it for yourself.
So Sabzian enlists the help of a family to travel to this place together even if all participants are going there unknowingly or unintentionally.
In the final moments of the film Sabzian is finaly meets someone who understands the condition he speaks of. Someone else who like him needs the sublime state of art. And now that he can see himself mirrored in another in the real flesh in blood of reality…
Even the recording devices themselves can’t capture the ecstasy he experiences.
