Just had to double check this was still fucking gorgeous. THE COLOURS.

Simply can’t help but enjoy the 4th wall break inception, but I really thought I’d have grown to appreciate this more, but it’s still disappointingly mid.

***“We’re only stardust”***. This Sci-Fi really had it all, it felt as though the walls were closing in on me, a claustrophobic plummet towards certain death, whilst posing questions of the fleetingness of life and the minuteness of one’s issues, followed by a spooky as fuck slasher third act with one of the creepiest motherfuckers of all time. Boyle’s wacky camera shit works better than ever here. Haven’t even talked about how gorgeously the enormity of the task was captured visually, or how every performance was top-notch. It maintained this ominous energy throughout which felt almost over-bearing in the best way.

Serves as an excellent follow-up to *The Conversation*, Hackman takes up his role as reclusive surveillance expert, and this follows a similar path of increased paranoia and control caused by surveillance under the guise of national security. It’s perfectly paced, bundles of energy, action-packed, and having Will Smith in it adds an extra layer of humour. The spooky realism of the NSA and what they’re capable of, will only mean this continues to age excellently.
