Midnight Run

“You have 2 forms of expression: silence and rage”. De Niro is so aggressively furious it’s wildly entertaining, there’s genuine hatred for everyone and everything. It spreads its wings across the full breadth of the crime genre, whilst the main focus is a Planes, Trains and Automobiles like travel story between 2 men who absolutely despise each other, they play off each other perfectly with insane on-screen chemistry. I’ve fallen instantly in love with this, and maybe a little bit more with movies in general, every crime film should just copy this.
