I always find something new to connect with every time that I watch this film, and this time it was the airport scene destroying me. I don't think I will ever get tired of this film. The film is about love and the different definitions of that needlessly complex, constantly confusing, and always rewarding feeling. We chase after love to fulfill some greater need inside of us, and sometimes we end up loving things that we don't even like, but we love what we are meant to love. This film, to me, is like love in that sense -- it is always revealing new layers and complexities, while never losing the initial feeling of comfort that comes from being loved. Love isn't always easy, it is rarely ever kind, but it is love. How I long to live in the hazy, smoke-filled tour bus singing Tiny Dancer, moved by nothing more than the power of music and creation. But then I remember the t-shirt scene and the plane being struck down, and I find myself loving more and more the fact that I live in a world surrounded by things that are real.
