Moneyball

Still the best sports movie I’ve ever seen. Captures the essence of the sport without becoming cheesy, but is still a story of romanticism and love at its core. This is my favorite Brad Pitt performance, and there is no director who I want to see their next feature more than Bennett Miller. The combination of documentary footage and traditional filmmaking is astounding, and the script from Zallian and Sorkin works on so many levels. Please, if you think this is just a sports movie (or initially wrote it off as one), give it another watch. Watch it as a story of faith and determination, and the inevitable disappointment of defiance.
