Sing Sing

I hold The Shawshank Redemption in the highest regard possible. It was a movie I first met during the summer when I first started getting into movies. It functions as a prison epic that is as depressing as it is hopeful. I have had some issues with recently bias and “glazing” movies too much, but I feel that Sing Sing takes everything done by Shawshank and matches if not improves on each one. Sing Sing is why we have movies, showcasing the human spirit functioning in a system that breaks it down.  Sing Sing is the most human movie I have seen this year, a movie that I guarantee will stick with me for the rest of my life.
