Babylon
"I always wanted to be part of something bigger, something that lasts, that means something. Something more important than life."This is another classic made by Damien Chazelle. For a little over three hour run time, this movie is an absolute trip that feels like nothing. Chazelle really is someone that comes around once every generation. He is technically perfect in everything. This probably has the best score since La La Land, which has the best score since Whiplash in my opinion. All 3 are by Chazelle. This specific movie is "THE" love letter to cinema and fame. It follows 4 people going from the silent era to the talkie's era. An actor falling out of stardom and his journey, an actress having her rise and fall, a lover of cinema who rises through hard work, and a musician who wanted to change the game. Chazelle executes all of their arks perfectly spreading the screen to who needed it the most. Of course, the acting was great with this cast, but special shoutout to the real star of the show Diego Calva who just gave an amazing performance in his first real big production movie. I can definitely see why some do not like this, but that is perfect this is cinema, be different have your opinion. That is the intention. Defiantly go and see this if you are prepared for a drug induced, graphic thrill ride of a movie
