Tenet
What if I said this is actually Christopher Nolan's best film, or at least, my favorite film that he's ever made?
Last watch of 2022 while I'm on Winter Break. Christopher Nolan is an absolute genius, and I still don't understand how this film is structured and crafted so intricately with care that it actually, fundamentally, works on literally every imaginable layer. The best James Bond film that never was.
I know it's a tad more divisive than his other films, but TENET bangs in every sense of the word. It immediately grabs you and doesn't let go, and keeps you on edge with your eyes glued to the screen as every creative choice constructed of sheer imagination and care happens. Technically a masterpiece in every way possible. Narratively, an intrinsic, layered, seemingly simplistic yet in actuality is emotionally rich and complex. Structurally, outright genius. I don't think that anyone other than Christopher Nolan could've made this.
Posterity and Inversion. We live in a Twilight World.
