Oldboy
“Oldboy” is a film about the corruption and dehumanizing nature of revenge. It follows Dae-Su while trying to find the truth, with the blind pursuit of revenge ending up falling into the hands of Lee. Who accurately predicts his moves to further his revenge against Dae-Su for indirectly causing his sister’s suicide with whom he had a sexual relationship. This left him in ruin with his first love and Sister dead because of Dae-Su. Since if Dae-Su didn't blab his mouth to his friend Lee’s sister would still be alive. So it's no wonder that he was kidnapped for 15 years.
Dae-Su could have left the truth alone; he could have killed the man who kept him in a cage for 15 years. But Dae-Su does learn the truth and by following his impulses he sleeps with his daughter. Not on purpose of course but it still breaks him mentally since Lee wanted to show his pain on Dae-Su. Lee takes joy in this since his revenge is done he won. Yet he didn't, the pain is still there watching his sister kill herself. He died on that bridge along with her. Physically he didn't but mentally he did. So he kills himself since the pain of accepting his sister and lover's death was too much. So Dae-Su is left with shame. Since sometimes ignorance is bliss.
