Perfect Blue
(Editors note 9/4/23 this review will be replaced soon with another I am working on a little too personal but nothing will be changed about this one fyi thanks bye 👋😁)
"You reap what you sow, especially about YOU.”
Mimi constantly tries to reinvent herself as an actress to no avail. She has worn her pop persona so long that it bleeds into her. She doesn't have anything outside of that. I do the exact same thing suppressing myself from how I really feel about everything. I dislike a lot of the stuff about myself like for example how I am self-aware of everything I do(haha). I criticize myself so much that it's ridiculous. Every day I drive to school, slip on another persona with everyone I talk to whether it be teachers, friends, parents, or a crush. I do this so often I don't even know who I really am, I never express how I feel except on a fucking website about movies. Literally, this is the only outlet I have in my life where I can say whatever tf I want it's pathetic.
Now before you think it no I'm not the quiet kid in the back with a hood saying “fuck life” etc. I just genuinely hate this so much it feels so fucking nice to say something without censoring myself. What this film has taught me is that I should be open about myself and free myself from my “Rumi” and express my true feelings. For me, it's easier said than done, but maybe someday I'll be happy with myself.
Anyways bye ✌️
