Cure

If you liked Se7en or Memories Of Murder you will love this.  Ironically, from start to finish I was totally mesmerised and glued to the screen, almost in a hypnotic way. Kiyoshi Kurosawa is an absolute genius in the way he sets the haunting and chilling tone and atmosphere, especially the fact there’s ‘zero semblance of a musical score’ throughout the entire film.  The pacing and shot length is so purposefully paired with the cinematography and is so masterfully done. The writing and screenplay is so spectacular and had me completely hooked 15 mins in.  I’ve watched 238 movies this year and not one has made my jaw drop like this has.
