I have seen this movie in theaters. My father had to see this movie. Best comments:Cillian murphy’s Oscar is safe The wolf of wall streetI thought this was about economics. Best comments:the most realistic thing about this movie is that leo dates a 22 year old can you believe that leo won his first oscar for grunting when THIS performance exists teenage boys when they buy 2 dollars worth of bitcoin: the movie “by some miracle, i made it home alive, not a scratch on me or my car”
Never the same after watching this movie. Best comments:There’s before you watch Incendies and then there’s after. “One plus one equals one”What a great and terrifying quote... Return of the jedi
It is star wars. Come on. Best comments:the saddest moment in cinematic history is when those two ewoks get caught in an explosion and one of them gets up and shakes the other but it doesn’t move i literally am still in fucking tears george lucas you utter piece of shit r2d2: beep boop zorbme: damn right king vader: join the dark sideluke: novader: son you're giving up your dreamluke: no dad, i'm giving up yours
I wanted to write that I like the little boy but it sounds bad. Best comments:a movie about a girl, who reads a book about a man, who hears a story about a lobby boy, who meets a man who runs a hotel, a hotel for which the story, the book, and the movie are named for sir that’s my emotional support lobby boy Is it possible to frame an entire feature film and hang it on your wall? Have we discovered how to do this? Asking for a friend. I’m gonna write a letter to Wes Anderson asking him to be the interior designer for my home “ass or tits?” bro the colour scheme in wes anderson movies
I hoped this was about music.Best comments:What gets me about this movie and what's always made this stick with me is the end. The last 5 minutes of this movie after the assault sum up Erika's whole life and show us how sad it's always been for her. She's standing in the middle of the concert hall lobby with bruises on her face and tears in her eyes and yet no one cares. They just put on a fake smile, talk about themself, and wait for her to perform for them like a monkey. Her whole life has been devoted to trying to prove herself and impress others, but no one really cares. It's so sad. Erika is one of the deepest, most fleshed-out characters of any movie ever made and Isabelle Huppert absolutely delivered one of the best performances ever. The amount of times I had to pause to recollect myself...
I'm scared of Christoph Waltz.Best comments:the story of broomhilda that christoph waltz tells to django is literally shrek
I was surprised how good this was.Best comments:Nobody:Leo the entire movie: ☹️
I want to do that once.Best comments:first watch: fight club is the best movie ever madesecond watch: fight club is a deep commentary on the dangers of consumerismthird watch: fight club is a disgusting cesspool of toxic masculinity and it’s not as deep as its fanboys think it isfourth watch: fight club is a critique of toxic masculinity and it’s deeper than its fanboys think it isfifth watch: fight club is the best satirical gay romcom ever made
I am in love. The opening scene gets me everytime.Best comments:Joe black: mm yum yum peanut buttersusan: so well spoken, so... seductivebrad playing a soft version of death who doesn't know how to tie a tie and likes peanut butter is something i didnt know i needed until nowthe only thing stopping this from being my new go-to feel-good movie is that it's 178 minutes long for uhhh no discernible reasonThis movie is 3 hours long.
I think I watched this movie in school but couldn’t remember until the last sceneBest comments:his mind wasn’t even that beautifulmoral of the story: don’t marry your professorfight club for math geeks
I love the setting of this movie. Best comments:Braveheart is maybe one of the most historical inaccurate films of all time. Special mention to the Battle of Stirling Bridge being fought in a fucking field. And I had a lot of problems with it this time, but I still found it absolutely captivating and powerful. Mel Gibson directs the shit out of this movie & he's clearly going out of his way to show his passion for film-making and for action in particular. His directorial technique brings an undeniable punch to the battle scenes, which resulted in some of the best battle sequences committed to film. mel gibson is like that history teacher who’s pretty terrible at his job, but boy is he a lot of fun to listen to.
My dad wanted me to see this movie. I have to thank him. Best comments:this movie stole its score from spongebob It’s a huge bummer to realize your friend actually really sucks You were born to be murdered.-Calloway Something incredible happens in The Third Man. From it's opening moments you know you're watching something special as you realize the music, cinematography and performances all meld together to not only create a masterpiece, but a masterpiece with personality. That's not the incredible part though. What's incredible is that well after you realize that you're watching film-noir perfection, a masterpiece at this point, that magnificent bastard Orson Welles steals the entire show without speaking a word. In one of the most iconic entrances in cinema history, Welles just gives us a knowing smile with a twinkle in his eye and that is it. Game over. Everything that came before, no matter how good, no longer matters. That little scene elevates the energy of a film that was already perfect. It's not that the film doesn't have any great performances other then Welles either. It does. Plenty of them, not the least of which from leading man Joseph Cotten. It's just…
Grace kelly can speak so beautiful. Best comments:what did grace kelly ever do to deserve having to put up with men dial m for murder more like shout h for hitchcock! "In stories, things usually turn out the way the author wants them to. And in real life they don't... always." the way this movie takes place in one room for the most part and didn't bored me is something that surprised me!
I think I need to rewatch this movie. I think I gave this rating because of what other people thought about the movie. Best comments:nolan so scared to flop he designed a movie you have to watch twice hilariously expensive, convoluted, and up its own ass. like, sooooo dumb. loved every second of it! ok ok now explain it like I’m a child teacher: the test isn’t that confusingthe test:
We love you Jake Gyllenhaal. Best comments:October Sky is an anagram of “rocket boys” 😱 October Sky is one of the most inspiring and well done biopics I've had the privilege to witness. The film tells the true story of Homer Hickam, a teenager with nothing special going for him until one night he witnesses a rocket soar through the sky. This ignites a passion for rocket science in him and he sets out to follow his dream and escape his home town, which is basically a poverty-ridden coal mining settlement (not a fun place at all). Like I said before, this is one of the most inspiring films that has been made in my opinion. The acting is something that could either make or break the film, and it certainly made it. Gyllenhaal is nothing short of exceptional and it seemed like the role he was born to play. He was so convincing as a hopeful teenager that an Oscar nomination would have certainly been deserved. Cooper is always excellent but here he reaches a new level of brilliance. And Dern made a character that could have seemed out of place if a lesser actor took the role,…
Two of my favourite actors in one movie?! Best comments:fellas........ is it gay to dress up in drag to escape the mob "I'm a man!""Well, nobody's perfect."
Crazy. Best comments:Whenever I think about getting back together with my ex, I watch this film. Works like a charm every time.
I knew it from the start. Best comments:my favorite commentary that I've read about this movie was from Rian Johnson who said "I love that if the movie Get Out existed in the world of Get Out, the parents would have told Chris how much they loved Get Out" aggressively straight white boy into sports? killed in wrestling match. white dad who said he loves when deer die? impaled by antlers. evil psychiatrist mom? killed in her office. psycho girlfriend who earlier pretended to care that chris felt responsible for his moms hit and run? left to die by the side of the road. THATS called poetry motherfuckers
Just star wars.Best comments:noooo anakin don’t turn to the dark side you’re so sexy aha
Just the dark knight. Best comments:when is cillian murphy gonna sentence me to death big thank you to nolan for giving us the funniest bad guy voice in cinema history
I was back in an episode of succession. Best comments:can't get over how jesse eisenberg wrote a scene about how beautiful his feet are This one runs almost exactly 90 minutes. That makes it a beautiful little short story, primarily about the agony of being a David when you so desperately want to be a Benji and have only just discovered that being a Benji is agony too. “my pain is unexceptional, so I don’t feel the need to burden everyone with it” is the realist shit I’ve heard all year — everyone in this is fantastic We are all tourists in each other’s pain, even those we love. Kieran Culkin gives such an organic, raw performance. You’ll be hearing about it all year. "you light up a room and then you shit on everything inside of it."
We live to the future but we understand things only by looking at the past. Best comments:ROSES ARE REDVIOLETS ARE BLUEFUCK YOU WHORE The expectations vs. reality scene is one of the most depressing scenes I've ever seen. I always create expectations in my head, but I always end up heartbroken and angry when the reality is different. The first time I watch this film, the expectations vs reality scene made me so sad, cause I know how that feels like. summer: i love the smiths tom: she’s not like other girls guys she’s DIFFERENT she’s literally the love of my life autumn??? are you fucking kidding me ?!! Tom: We look like a coupleSummer: Yeah, a couple of besties
One of those movies you begin to appreciate once they are finished. Best comments:I will NOT leave my donkey outside when I’m sad Men will literally cut their fingers off before going to therapy. That one unemployed friend at 2pm on a tuesday:
We all hate that girl. Best comments:13 years old saoirse ronan was robbed of that oscar for her performance as THE DEVIL "i gave them their happiness" bitch........ you ruined their fuckin lives and a book isnt gonna make up for that how can a film this beautiful have such an ugly poster
This movie doesn't need dialogue. Best comments:tom hardy: *mumbles*fionn whitehead: *mumbles*harry styles: *mumbles*barry keoghan: *mumb-*cillian murphy: *mumbles cowardly*kenneth branagh: *mumbles slightly less*mark rylance: *mumbles with an oscar*hans zimmer: TICK TOCK MOTHERFUCKER chris nolan: actually can I have 100 more of these dark-haired british twinks?
I was expecting more. Best comments:There is a house on a hill, and there are people in it. And they're nice, but not really. There is a garden, and there they get a lot of sunlight. And it is nice, and they get to sleep there sometimes. There is a house underground, and there are people in it. And they're the first to tell you that they're not very nice: they're con-men, grifters, forgers and imposters. They sit among stink bugs, and they've been there for so long that maybe they've convinced themselves that they just belong there. There is a rock, and it is a gift, but it is also a burden. And maybe it's a metaphor, but it's also just a rock: solid and heavy, difficult to lug around, and dangerous in the wrong hands. Some people will tell you that it's supposed to bring wealth. But again, it's also just a rock. There is a line, and it cannot be crossed. There is a smell, and it comes from the underground. And the people who live in the house on the hill can smell it. And the people who live underground try to imagine a life…
Never give up. Best comments:Oh right this is the most iconic Christmas movie because it actually IS the best Christmas movie
I hate that Fred guy. Best comments:cautionary tale for simps everywhere Every time he says "baby" take a drink. Gah, the dialogue in this movie is soooo good. Phyllis: Mr. Neff, why don't you drop by tomorrow evening around 8:30? He'll be in then.Walter: Who?Phyllis: My husband. You were anxious to talk to him, weren't you?Walter: Yeah, I was. But I'm sort of getting over the idea, if you know what I mean.Phyllis: There's a speed limit in this state, Mr. Neff. Forty-five miles an hour.Walter: How fast was I going, officer?Phyllis: I'd say around ninety.Walter: Suppose you get down off your motorcycle and give me a ticket.Phyllis: Suppose I let you off with a warning this time.Walter: Suppose it doesn't take.Phyllis: Suppose I have to whack you over the knuckles.Walter: Suppose I bust out crying and put my head on your shoulder.Phyllis: Suppose you try putting it on my husband's shoulder.Walter: That tears it. 8:30 tomorrow evening, then.Phyllis: That's what I suggested.Walter: You'll be here too?Phyllis: I guess so. I usually am.Walter: Same chair, same perfume, same anklet?Phyllis: I wonder…
Its star wars. Best comments:Every time I rewatch this movie, Jar Jar gets more and more unironically funny
I need to read the book (said my father). Best comments:I'm stumped by this bizarre detective story set in an Italian monastery in the year 1327. The acting, the casting, the pacing, it's all way off, and yet it never dips below enjoyable. From the very first few moments you know you're in for good time, and that does indeed turn out to be the case. That sex scene, however, has left me a little scarred. We should all be thankful we don't live in the 1300s.
I had to watch all mad max movies. Luckely Johnny from Jacobs gave me the movies.Best comments:it’s furiOsa, not furioSA.Sickest damn revenge I've ever seen in a movie. Diabolical.Shoutout to that guy at the Cinemark who recognized me! I would say you made my day, but like, I watched Furiosa right after sooooooThere’s a really cool moment that I think is truly perfect. It takes place between 0:00:0 and 2:29:00.
The favourite was better.Best comments:barbie (2023) but for mentally ill people
Not for me.Best comments:cancelling plans is ok. adopting your dead co-worker's baby to look like a family man so your oil business is successful is ok. buying out an entire town to drill for their oil is ok. sending your adopted son away after he becomes deaf from a gas blowout is ok. killing a man who pretended to be your brother because you're rich is ok. berating your son because he became your competitor is ok. killing the local pastor/your brother-by-marriage in your private bowling alley because you've had beef for 16 years is ok. do what u need to do to copebowling and milkshakes with the bestie what’s better than this
Its the hobbit.Best comments:The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the funky air of my local HFR theatre.Much that once was is lost, for no director now lives who remembers its subtle epicness. It began with the forging of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the great feels that followed.Three feels were given to the Elves; immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings.Seven to the Dwarf Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine feels were gifted to the Race of Men, who above all else desire a dark and well-made fantasy saga. But they were all of them deceived, for another trilogy was made.In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Peter Jackson forged, in secret, a disappointing prequel trilogy to humiliate all others. And into this trilogy he poured his cheese, his slapstick and his will to dominate every frame with plot filler, excessive CGI and a tacked-on love story between two underdeveloped characters. One trilogy to defile them all. One trilogy to find them. One trilogy to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
Sneaky boy.Best comments:this isn't even a thriller, rich people just be like thatIdk about you guys but I could see Tom Cruise attending something like this in real life
What did I just watch.Best comments:“Tell her you’ll stop if she can hold back her tears."HOLY SHIT.a nightmare on elm street literally a nightmare on elm streetThis film made me to happy to hear that children were about to be murdered in front of their mother. I don't know how to feel about that.Me during the first half: What could possibly go wrong??Me during the second half: *throws up*
I was expecting more.Best comments:The scene with Travis and hunter running across the road on opposite sides is honestly one of my favourite scenes in the history of cinema.- H-how can you have two fathers?- Just lucky I guess...Seemingly birthed from the dust that surrounds him, a man wordlessly emerges from the desert, trudging towards an invisible horizon. His face is weary and withered, his memory elusive, his soul haunted by sorrow.Wim Wenders' Paris, Texas is a melancholic portrait of a broken man yearning for reconnection with a family he had left years ago. But much more so, the film is a considered reflection of America's emotional fabric as seen through images of run-down motels, vistas of vast desert landscapes, Travis' sense of anachronism, and the myth that stoic silence equals masculine strength.Paris, Texas, whose very title suggests a melding of European realism and American idealism, is a perceptive elegy of love and loss, eloquently set against the foreboding backdrop of middle America. It's a beautiful yet devastating piece of filmmaking that offers powerful insights into the processes of self-realisation, forgiveness, and the simple act of moving on.RIP Harry Dean Stanton
Star wars.Best comments:i'm convinced that anakin subconsciously used the force to make padme slowly fall in love with him because there's simply no way a queen/galactic senator would EVER get with a creepy, whiny child murderer with a mini ponytail
It wasn't that great, was it.Best comments:I skipped every shot of just trees/sky and this movie was an hour long
I need to rewatch this movie. I was a bit dissappointed.Best comments:men will literally avenge their father, save their mother and kill fjölnir before going to therapyfeel like I might not have thrived in Viking times
