Nope
Caught it on glorious IMAX. I don’t throw this phrase lightly, but this movie is a modern day classic. A metaphoric approach to the summer blockbuster genre has never felt so well balanced. Peele never strays too far from the spectrum between academic allegory and exciting spectacle. He is able to blend humor and horror in such a delicate way. It makes the seemingly pretentious stance on it’s all-encompassing theme subjects feel like subtext that isn’t essential to the enjoyment of the film. For the first time, Peele’s thematic approach takes a backseat for the audiovisual experience. It’s something to really to just take in. I can sit here and analyze what Peele wants to say—and believe me I really want to— but it’s a film that’s better if you let it speak for itself.
