Sin City

Love its style so much that I can overlook its glaring flaws. Is it a little one-note? Sure. Can it be a bit messy and unsure of itself? Yup. Is it hyper-masculine and way too misogynistic? 1000%. But this movie is just so damn fun and rewatchable. Oversaturated noir stories with that child-like Robert Rodiguez energy are a match made in heaven. The aesthetics are so singular. The use of color and its cinematography are never boring. The stories are rich with interesting characters and atmosphere. Each story helps to piece together this sick, twisted, and morally ambiguous city so seamlessly. So seamlessly that by the end, the world wins me over and I can't help to have a huge, shit-eating grin on my face. I love this movie.
