Pearl
The second watch really made me enjoy the bits and pieces that I didn’t quite pick up on with my first watch. The dreamlike aesthetic, with the vibrant colors, and scenic farm clashes with the boring and monotony with which Pearl sees it in the best way possible. What really sets this apart and makes it so scary is just how real it is. I mean people have done much worse things on feelings not nearly as passionate. The dedication to make this movie feel like something that could happen really paid off. The 6 minute monologue from Pearl at the end was so well written. Then the way Mia Goth delivered it was so well. Random side note: for some reason every time she yelled it makes you want to yell with her. I’ve heard of contagious laughs but never contagious screams.
