Pulp Fiction
The meaning of this movie has always been somewhat perplexing to me. It seems that there should be some obvious theme, but it has always eluded my mental grasp after every watch. With that being said this is one of my personal favorites, purely for the dialogue alone. As someone who use to do cross country, and the only way to pass the time while running with your teammates was to talk, this dialogue really hit home. Going into depth about trivial matters to past the monotony of the seemingly endless miles was something we did daily. After this watch that is what really stood out to me. These ideas and stories are seemingly random, but since there spliced together in a 2 and a half hour movie they must be related by some over arching theme, is what I always thought. However, maybe it’s just that, a bunch of random events. Much like how Vincent and Jules trivialize the mundane in there dialogue, this movie makes it seem like there’s more to these stories than there really is. That you can interpret life how you want and explain it by acts of god, or karma, or whatever to make sense of it, but it’s really a bunch of random events compiled together for each person into there random lives, with no overarching meaning. Either way great movie.
