Interstellar

‘That emotion is at the foundation of what makes us human, it’s not to be taken lightly’ My friend has been telling me to watch this film probably since we met & it’s forever been on the back burner but I finally got around to it today (sorry Tom). In this film Nolan somehow creates a more believable world that he does in his Batman trilogy while also giving us some of the most beautiful images in his whole filmography! I’m usually turned off to a lot of Sci-fi with the effects & green screen work but the VFX are remarkable & are exactly what a film of this level needed! It’s his biggest film in terms of scope and I do believe it would have been even more impressive in 70mm IMAX. The performances are brilliant, perfectly mixing the complexity of family with the insanity of a huge sci-fi epic! Despite McConaughey’s tour de force performance the supporting cast are also impressive! These are some of the best supporting characters of Nolan’s career, giving Jessica Chastain arguably one of the strongest female characters he has ever written.
