Halloween
one of my favorite aspects of slasher films like this, and i think Halloween does this best, is how they're able to shed a light on suburban life that is constantly trying to be ignored. Halloween shows the dark side that lurks under the quiet and friendly nature of suburbia. it's why most people decide to live that way. to live a nice quiet life to raise their children away from the bustling cities. the owner of the graveyard says that every town has at least one story like the one of Michael Myers. they become ghost stories, tales to spook the children about how the calm suburban setting they live in isn't actually as safe as they think it is. this is done in a whole bunch of horror films like Scream and Nightmare on Elm Street and sometimes even in non-horror films like Blue Velvet. there will always be some horror tale in your small suburban town because the feeling of uncertainty in the safety and comfort that suburbia was made for is enthralling and scary.
also like everyone in this movie is really hot.
