✖️🖤 I don’t know what kind of mood I was in the first time I watched Cure, but I thought it was good but not great. I was so wrong. Everything from the inky black bathtub to the old tape to the picture hanging behind the murky curtain— it’s so eerie. And the sound design is absolutely perfect. It’s actually unnerving, and everything about it feels wrong. I want to steal so much from it if I ever make a movie. Kiyoshi Kurosawa is slowly creeping into my favorite directors in 2020.
