Alien: Romulus

This film was so sexy, I’ll speak briefly as it’s late and I got work in the morning but wow. Prometheus and Covenant were good but this was just what an alien movie should be, it really felt similar to the original which I loved, I didn’t mind the on planet ones but it wasn’t as nice as in space, also the smaller cast was nice. Great cast, all actors I’m not familiar with which gives it a more realistic feel. Having Idris Elba in Prometheus kinda took me out of it, which isn’t really a valid complaint cuz the actors gotta get employed.  The story was actually pretty good, I really liked the characters, Andy is definitely up there in my top three characters in the Alien Franchise. Andy was also the perfect portrayal of an Android imo. He felt robotic like as soon as I saw him I knew he was one just off of a feeling. He was such a sweet character and I loved his jokes. The music in this film was amazing, really added to the scenes and the silence was so sexy, I really liked the sudden silence of space. The visuals were genuinely awesome like woah, it looks so beautiful and the whole atmosphere of the film was great. Set design is always great in these films and with it coming out recently the cgi was really good. I liked the changed in Andy when he became kinda like under the control of the company. The scene where Rain asked what his motive was was so so insanely cool. I liked the split which happened between the two groups of characters, it made us as the viewer be aware of the Xenomorph but not the other characters which really raised tension. Evil Andy closing that door was really scary because it was so close. Bjorns death had to of been the worse, I feel like dying by acid would hurt so bad and seeing his fingers melt away was so sick.  I’ll skip to the around the end but getting Andy back to normal was so good, I was so happy to have him back with his little jokes. Then he killed a Xenomorph and cussed like a kid. That evil robot dude was pants, I didn’t like him, glad he died. The station crashing into the belt was cool and seeing Kay take that like Alien Serum thing was so annoying because augh, she could’ve lived and then SHE GAVE BIRTH TO AN EGG, THAT WAS SO DISGUSTING. That had to be like the grossest scene ever. That baby thing was disgusting and ew. Also cool to know it was played by like that basketball guy who’s very tall, I’m pretty sure he retired from basketball now. He was disgusting and HE HURT MY BOY ANDY. The tension through the film was insane but my heart was pounding during the scene where Rain was trying to drop the cargo bay. When he jumped on Rain that was so scary. The ending was good, I’m glad that Andy could be saved. I love how I think every film kinda ends with the final message. This was a great film and I’m pretty sure there’s a sequel in the works, really enjoyed it. I kinda just glazed this film but it was so insane and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were flaws but I think they are minor. Lack of Sigourney Weaver is a big one tho.
