Good Will HuntingJesse9.8· May 2, 2025Followwow, beautiful film. Out of everything I thought the title of this film meant, I did not think that it was in relation to his name. This film is very pretty, the cinematography is a bit grainy and the age can be seen but it feels just makes it all that more beautiful. The colours are lovely and the framing of scenes are great, the final scene of him driving his car was gorgeous. The cast was fantastic, the chemistry between every character was so genuine and the dialogue flowed so naturally. Wills friends got along like friends, it was very nice to see. I really like Matt Damon, he was phenomenal in this, same with Robin Williams, rest in peace. I love him. It’s very very late and I shouldn’t be up this late but shea recommended this so it’s his fault. It was a beautiful film, the way the story played out was great, really made wills life seem so ideal and then it gradually showed you how it actually was. Also loved his character, he was so real, he never wanted to get close with anyone because he was scared of being left. One of my favourite scenes was the one where Sean took Will to the park and he just listened off things about Will hasn’t actually experienced life and the camera focused on Robin Williams for almost all of the things said apart from when he started to bring up love, wills face came into frame but was blurred. Will was experiencing love or at least was feeling love for Scarlett. I don’t know if it was intentional but I really liked it. We don’t see how Will actually reacts to what Sean is saying until the end. Sean was a great character, I loved him. He was one of the only ones to truly get will because he was just like him. He was smarter than that professor guy but he ‘failed’. He grew up with an abusive father and on the south. It’s the way that he was the last choice to talk to Will but the only one who could actually do it. Even though Will really pushed his buttons to the point where he choked him, he knew that Will had potential to do what Will wanted to do not what some professor wanted. I loved their conversations and how Sean went about it all. He was so fatherly and the scene where he assured Will it wasn’t his fault was so moving because even after being given a violent response from Will he persisted. The hug was so fatherly too, it reminded me of hugging my dad. I also loved Chuckie, he loved Will and wanted the best for him and to the point where Will leaving without even letting him know was something he wanted. The scene of him telling Will he wanted him to leave without saying and Will actually doing it was great and the silent awareness of all the friends was also great. Wills reactions to relationships was so interesting because you could tell he really loved Scarlett, he was constantly starting at her, all lovey dovey and wanted to be around her but he was scared of her knowing the true him. It’s so intersting to see and the way he would rather tell her that he doesn’t love her than be vulnerable is so intriguing. The end scene is great, he used Sean’s own line back at him and there’s also a sense of unknown with what wills doing as we aren’t shown him actually get to be with Scarlett but it shows growth in him because he’s taking the risk of trying to actually let her see the true him. It’s kinda ambiguous but it lets you think, which I like. Such an amazing movie, very glad I watched it. The humour was also great. Really enjoyed, I did cry. I seem to cry quite easily at these types of films. “Don’t forget the Coffee!”CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the app
