NopeJesse9.8· October 2, 2024FollowIve been wanting to watch this movie for ages and I bought the dvd along with US and GET OUT as I really enjoyed GET OUT when I first watched it and heard very good things about the other movies. First off, I absolutely love Jordan Peeles cinematography, it was insanely good in GET OUT and NOPE really keeps up that standard, it was genuinely so beautiful. Another big selling point for this movie was the cast, I absolutely love Steven Yeun, he was amazing in both the walking dead and beef so of course he was amazing in this too but also having Daniel Kaluuya back for another movie was genuinely such a good choice, he is an insanely good actor and like he feels like the character. Another thing in this film that was great was the characters and how real they felt, like in a lot of horror based films the characters act stupid and like it’s annoying but these felt human and like it genuinely was so nice to see, every character reacted like a normal person. I loved Keith David being in the start of the movie, he is very cool. Now I’m gonna get into the actual parts of the movie, first off, I was so insanely confused through the first half but that was really good, I didn’t feel like I wanted to look away or anything I was genuinely so intrigued and it all made sense by the end. The movie is scary and I mean genuinely like I was on edge the whole time, the scariest scenes were probably the fake alien children and the scene with OJ in the car. The fake alien children was so creepy like I was going back in my chair to get away from the screen, like the way he reacted too was so real he kept distance but tried to record and then the one turning up behind him, so scary then it turned out to just be kids. Then the one of him in the car when it was over head really felt real and scary like he was in the car and opened the door slightly and I was thinking that it would be so stupid to get out and he then said “nope” which I found funny cuz what a dumb title drop but like he felt real then because he hid in his car and even locked the door and everything was so quiet and so like tense and then the prop horse smashes through the window, I literally jumped. Also the scene where he was trying to get Angel and Em into angels van was so scary and tense, like he literally knew at that point to not look at the thing which was so cool. Also naming the monster thing Jean jacket because of what em felt about never being able to break in an animal and now this was her chance was so cool. Another things which actually was so sick and made me freak out was when Em did the “Akira slide” on the motorbike like that was so sick and also OJ DOING THE HAND MOTION TO EM LIKE HE DID WHEN THEY FIRST BROKE IN JEANJACKET SO SICK. I also loved how like Steven Yeuns character reacted to talking about Gordys house like he had a flash back which we could see but we were still confused was so cool, I love the title cards also, reminded me of bullet train. I also felt so bad for Steven Yeuns character because he thought he had tamed the monster but no and he died :(, also insane how he knew, I thought he didn’t. I also hated the film guy, holst like why did he do that, but I’m glad they got the picture from the well. I could talk forever this movie was actually insanely good but I think the coolest thing was how the like business started with the great great (there was another great) grandfather was the first man on film and he was a black man riding a horse and then the end of the business was with OJ, a black man riding a horse. It is so sick. AWWH THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING, I was on edge the whole time, I’m so glad angel lived, it scared me, ALSO THE FINAL SCENE WITH THE DUST CLEARING AND OJ BEING THERE AWH SO GOOD, WHEN EM CLOSED HER EYES, I THOUGHT IT WAS GONNA JUST BE THE HORSE, such a film, amazing, 10/10, could yap for so much longer, I loved it, thank you Jordan Peele.CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the app
