Incident

I am angry. Every day I see this happen. Black men executed for the crime of existing while black. Harith Augustus was innocent. He was unjustly stopped and even then showed proof of his license to carry. But even if he hadn't done so, that wouldn't have made his death justified. Cops believe themselves to be above the law. They see themselves as judge, jury, and executioner, ready to kill any black man they see fit. Every day I see another beating, another case of police brutality, another black family torn apart in a moment. But what those videos never show are the minutes after the modern-day lynching takes place. I never see the lax attitude and lack of care of officers indifferent to the dead body they have left. I never see the murderers footage after as they try to justify their crimes to themselves and anyone who will listen. It always ends on the victim's passing. This is why I still scream out. Why Black Lives Matter protests still matter. Why I still call out ACAB. Because nothing has changed. Black people are still being killed. Police officers are still getting away with murder. Racial profiling is still happening. Nothing changes. Defund the police! Fight back against the oppressors. And no matter what, never stop filming.
