Thief
*‘I have run out of time. I have lost it all. So I can't work fast enough to catch up. I can't run fast enough to catch up. And the only thing that catches me up is doing my magic act.’*

Yes I may have been replaying this in my head ever since the Ryan Coogler video dropped with him inside the Criterion closet. The man really did say everything you needed about this, just doesn’t make sense how powerful this debut is. I think this might be the most definitive blue collar angst ever captured in a film before, I’m currently sitting on vacation just relaxing after a huge hike during the day and I found myself getting full body chills while having to stand up in order to watch. Tangerine Dream blasting through the AirBnB and I’m here literally breathing in Chicago James Cann. I don’t know how this wasn’t sitting at 5 stars before, I assure it certainly is now. Put this entire screenplay on my headstone play Tangerine Dream LOUD whenever I finally go. Calling this legendary would be a grave understatement, a real ball knower film that’s for sure and those last 30 minutes could cure any problem I’m having.
“You can’t see day for night”
‘I can see, my money, still in your pocket which is from the yield of my labor. What gratitude? You’re making big profits from my work, my risk, my sweat. That is okay because I elected it to make that deal but now, the deal is over. I want my end and I am out’
“Why don’t you join the labor union”
‘I am wearing it’
