The Odyssey

Nothing sophisticated for me to say here. Pacing felt off to me (but then again, this is supposed to take place over a decade) & because it’s an old epic (that you know the trajectory of), I think a lot of the traditional plot points my attention usually grabs onto are missing. I was kind of left thinking “so what?” The last act drags because there isn’t really any suspense, but seeing everyone finally realize who this beggar is and then Odysseus going full Rambo was pretty sick. All of this said, seeing it in IMAX was insane. Visually, so many stunning shots of the beaches, the sea, the Trojan horse. Between the immersive screen and the sound system, you absolutely do feel like you’re on the ship with them.
