Alien
I did not expect this to be as good as it was.
There are so many cool ideas, and they just nail them perfectly.
The side character becoming the main character was pretty cool.
Not just that, but a woman being more than a sidekick in a film — actually being the hero.
There were lots of overall great scenes, and the visuals were insane for the time it was made.
I can tell the actors got along really well behind the scenes because the chemistry between everyone in the film was amazing.
When they’re acting alone—when it’s just them by themselves—it’s crazy.
The way the story unravels keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The genre switch was entertaining to see.
There are only a few small problems, and even then, they don’t change my thoughts on the film that much.
I found the first half felt unplanned, almost like they didn’t know what kind of movie they were making.
Speaking of the first half, the pacing was a little slow. I understand it’s a slow-burn thriller, but it could have been just a tiny bit faster.
At times, the two halves felt like completely different movies.
Overall, I loved this film, and one day I hope to see the director’s cut.
