To me, this is the best animated film ever. Everything about it is done so well — and it’s absolutely beautiful. And for 2008, they did a fantastic job. I truly understand why this is the only Disney-Pixar film in the Criterion Collection. I haven’t started my collection yet, but when I do, this will be the movie I start with. I’ve always loved this movie — ever since I was young. It’s one of those films I probably rewatch every year. Not even on purpose — it just happens. The ending is bittersweet. Just a perfect movie. Absolute cinema.
