Blade Runner: Black Lotus
This was pretty decent. I find the Blade Runner world so fascinating as there is so much story potential to explore so it was refreshing to have a new perspective. However, it doesn’t feel like a Blade Runner property, instead having more in common with something like the Bourne films.
The story is fairly mediocre and the pacing is slow, not picking up until the 4th episode, but the characters were interesting. The Wallace’s, both Niander Sr. and Jr. were probably the most interesting, but Jessica Henwick’s Ellie was also cool.
Overall, Blade Runner: Black Lotus is a decent show. It adds more variety in this rich franchise and allows us to view L.A from another perspective in a different time, but it’s somewhat bland storyline is slow and not as interesting as it could’ve nor does it share much in common with the films nor their themes and I think that’s what let’s it down.
