Obi-Wan Kenobi
Pretty awesome miniseries. Started off magnificently, then got a little stale, before ending great. Seeing Ewan McGregor back as Kenobi himself was a delight as was seeing Hayden Christensen finally return, although I wish we saw more of him as Anakin through flashbacks or hallucinations. The plot was iffy at times, but definitely enjoyable, and there was a lot of potential that I’m definitely upset they didn’t touch on, but nevertheless it’s pretty great. I will say the finale was amazing, but again the final face off between Vader & Kenobi was a SLIGHT letdown. It’s probably because I was hoping for a grand, spectacle of a duel, but the character work was absolutely on point. I love how it was handled; It was really cool seeing Kenobi rise out of the rocks and attack Vader with everything he had. Everything was great, I was just hoping for a little more grandness if that makes sense, but the highlight was the character work. Seeing Hayden behind the cracked Vader mask, showing how far gone he is, was absolutely magnificent. It showed perfectly how Anakin doesn’t blame Kenobi as much as he may think, instead seeing that he is as much to blame as his former master. Truly one of the best moments in Star Wars history. To sum up my thoughts, Kenobi is definitely a great show, that brought back so many feelings, but ultimately didn’t touch on the potential it could’ve. I’ll always love it for bringing back Ewan and Hayden, and the character work is what makes the show shine, but I do wish they’d done more.
