Logan
“It wasn’t me, It wasn’t me” 😖
10 yo me was devastated and bawling his eyes out after watching The Wolverine die and 7 years later nothing has changed 😭. Wolverine/Logan is probably my 3rd favorite superhero ever considering I’ve loved him ever since I was wearing diapers; I’ve pretty much loved him my whole life. Even though Hugh Jackman picked the claws up again for D&W, this was the perfect send off and nothing or nobody can ever change that. I don’t understand how people think the opening of Deadpool and Wolverine affects the ending of this movie in any way. It’s not like they brought him back to life or called him a bitch or something, they say it’s disrespectful what Deadpool did but HE’S DEAD! If anything he’s part of one of the best endings and beginnings to a cbm ever. And if they had to touch this version of Logan, they did it in the best way possible but that’s just my opinion.
For my rewatch of this I decided to check out the “Noir” version and while I do prefer the normal version, this felt darker and kind of had a different tone which is exactly what their goal was with this and they succeeded. It would’ve been amazing if they had the whole film in black and white like they did but they made the blood red because would’ve been fucking sick. The reason I prefer the colored/normal version is because I think it fits the atmosphere and tone of the story better because you see how unhealthy and sick Logan is, since you can see the blood easier it appears more violent, the color grading is darkly beautiful, and overall has more detail. But I still recommend checking it out.
“You know, Logan. This was, without a doubt, the most perfect night l've had in a very long time...and I don't deserve it, do I?”
I feel like Patrick Stewart’s powerhouse of a performance almost gets overlooked in this because he is over shadowed by the once in a lifetime performance from Hugh but imo, Patrick is right there with him. You can see how much Charles is struggling and is deeply sorry for his inability to control his powers and it’s heartbreaking to watch. His death and burial scene tears me apart into a million pieces just as much as Logan’s but I never see anybody talk about him.
A straight up masterpiece up and down, left to right, forward and back. I love every square inch of this work of art. It means so much to me;
**superheroes are my childhood,
wolverine is my childhood,
movies are my childhood,**
and this was a core memory in my life.
To classify it only as a cbm masterpiece is so hurtful cause it is much more than that. Nobody can ever replace Hugh as Wolverine and the day they try, will be the day my childhood will officially be over. Unlimited words cannot describe how perfect of a film this is but your heart, your heart is limitless.

“I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
**
**
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything
**
**
What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
**
**
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
**
**
I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
**
**
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I'm still right here
**
**
What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
**
**
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
**
**
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way”
