Coco
I watched this hours ago and it was a lot to process. First of all I have to say I completely LOVED it and I cried in the theater by myself.
The main thing for Coco to be pretty much a perfect film for me is how much I identify with it. Now I'm not Mexican, I'm Colombian, but Mexican culture has had a lot of impact here and my family is very similar to the Riveras, seeing yourself on the screen is great, especially as a child and especially in something mainstream or that you look up to, which leads to my second topic, which is about dreams and having people you look up to; I've looked up to many american celebrities and Hollywood since I was a kid and part of growing up was learning that these people and this whole thing you look up to is messed up and not as great as you idealized. Finally seeing this in theatres was an amazing experience, is so full of color and great visuals.
I wish I could express myself better but this is what I came up with for now, I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear or anything, opening up like this in reviews makes me so anxious even if it doesn't seem like much.
