Surprisingly few boxing involved. But is makes sense as this film really is barely at all about boxing but instead about people and one man and it lives that by spending the majority of the film just introducing us thoroughly to those people and this man. A man who eventually got the chance of a purpose, of striving, of substance to his little and vain life. A chance that he didn't reach for or that would have been a natural consequence of his way but one that was thrown to him (almost arbitrarily one could argue). And he took the chance but partly even before that chance was presented to him so that he would be prepared to be the man he needed to be to pursue this opportunity and so that doing so would have a purpose because for himself alone it wouldn't have.
