Red Rocket

Kinda a miracle this movie works as well as it does. Following a man who can’t help but bring absolute destruction and chaos to everyone he comes in contact with. Leeching off all of them. Any moment leading to potential self-reflection is a sick joke meant to trick us into believing this man will change. Even on second watch, and knowing the movies motive, Simon Rex’s performance is so fascinating and hypnotic to a terrifying degree. Detestable in so many ways but also partially admirable???? God only in a such a flawed system could someone like him succeed and be viewed in any type of positive way. I guess we’re all messed up like that
