perhaps objectively the best film on this list but im a sucker for imaginative world building i guess ://
yeah i mean ppl were pissed at the golden globes for putting boy and the heron above this but i agree. spiderverse’s visuals are undoubtedly stunning, and back in 2018 they changed the game, but we’re starting to see more and more films that look like this, and some of them are even good (i.e. puss in boots 2). ghibli has always been outstanding with their gorgeous stylings and nobody has still come close to matching the talent of hayao miyazaki.not to undersell this film though. magnificent and brave.
i really hope wes anderson might do some more of these some day, or even make another stop motion roald dahl film. i know so many roald dahl stories that would be perfect.
thankfully, the only film on this list to enlist ai. still really quite fun.
best gay character of the year definitely goes to sterling k brown in this
great performancez, but pretty monotonous in tone until the last 20 minutes.
maybe i underrated this? idk. was good, but some scenes drag and are very obviously slapping you in the face with the messages they are trying to convey. i really dont appreciate lack of subtlety.
one of the most disappointing and disjointed endings to a film in recent memory
about what i expected. if they fuck up the zelda movie, that is to say if it’s anything less than perfect, i’ll kill myself
very solid and everybody gives an outstanding performance but i didnt find as much value as i was hoping for.
i feel like im alone in thinking the rocket backstory was awful and made me feel absolutely nothing but ehhhhh still a good flick
for whatever reason i was expecting this to be horrible. it wasnt. also maybe i DO like hugh grant
