yeah i mean this is definitely my most controversial take when it comes to these films, and i can agree that the pacing is super rough here especially around the casino planet but this is the closest star wars has come to doing something interesting with its story as opposed to being a circlejerk of the same ideas and archetypes that have been thrown around for forty years now.i LOVE luke skywalkers arc in this film. i find it to be perhaps the best arc of the franchise (mostly because attack of the clones is a hot mess and ill never see anakin through the same light because of it). i love kylo ren here, i love the cold indifference of rey’s backstory that was later spoiled by the worst film in the franchise, ilikedkilling snoke??? weirdly???but yeah, the casino planet is cute for a little bit but gets mind-numbingly boring fast, especially since we really just want to see more luke skywalker in this film. ive never been HUGE on finn, but its been a loooong time since ive seen the force awakens, so that can stand to change. regardless, i though him and rose were very cute and its a damn shame what jj abrams did to them.
