Bridget Jones's Diary
Mom, I owe you my life. You have great taste in movies. I loved this so so so much and laughed harder than I have in a long while. Naturally, my eyes were blessed every time Hugh Grant came on screen, specifically the lake scene, that “Fuck me, I love Keats" with a cigarette drag I mean-hello? Are we being fr they do not make them like this anymore but any momentary bliss was soon washed off with the emerging and I mean more clearer emerging of Colin Firth, AKA Mark Darcy. My first and most immediate thought as soon as my eyes landed on that exact sad-yearning-tall-successful-boy face was a screaming voice in my head saying** “**CONRAD BECK FISHER?!? IS THAT YOU??” Like the resemblance was going to kill me and I had to pause the movie in order to explain who Conrad was to my mom. I shit you not they are identical personality wise and if you delude yourself enough you can see it physically as well. So yea that was great because the end of TSITP was the evident end of me as well, and it felt like home. On another seperate note though, Mark Darcy is just his own enigmatically fantastic character and I absolutely adored him. Bridget is a charachter that I’ve honestly just loved through and through, her self rediscovery and respect increasing by the scene while still maintaining those awkward, homely little parts of herself is truly remarkable. She deserves the world. On a side note I nearly died when I saw Moaning Myrtle, in a bathroom, once again. It’s been a while and she sounds exactly the same.
Also, just gonna leave this here;
“Nice boys don’t kiss like that.”
“Oh yes they fucking do.”
jesus.
