This is one of the best films ever made not only from a technical standpoint, but also from what this tells us. The masks we put on and the face we show others always changes, as an example if i walk into a bar with non telling face expression which seems normal for me alone because i am bored or have nothing else to do, what will people think of me?Maybe they think i am here often or i just had a busy day, or will they maybe think i have severe life problems because for them my face doesnt seem normal but sad or depressed.Our face is a depiction of our feelings,But if we just have no expression at all what will happen then? what will pople see in us? how will they react?To portrait this phenomenon bergman cleverly uses the crumbled life of an actress which of course makes sense i mean putting on faces is their job right?Everything in this film is so extremly smart and well thought out from the beginning to the end.Bergmans clever Camera work underlines the tone of this film perfectly,In my opinion you could go as far and say this is probably one of if not the best Movie from a technical standpoint.
