Backrooms
The Backrooms showcases the disturbed mind of people who suffer from trauma. The liminal labyrinth that seems never-ending and distorted makes you feel isolated and alone, yet the constant footsteps of a monster that lingers nearby remind you that you are not safe and need to escape. These feel deeply related to mental health issues: being alone in your mind, disconnected from reality and always assuming that danger is nearby. The story of Clark, and to a lesser extent, Mary, very clearly follow this idea, except one chooses to embrace the "darkness", while another pursues the "light".
