I’ve just seen a review on this site use the term “unalive” when referring to a real life case this was inspired by. The thirteen year old girl who was murdered by a boy in her year. Talk about being right on the pulse. Fucking hell. There may be more “awareness” nowadays, but hearing just isn’t the same as listening. Streaming exclusives in this format have a tendency to act as a flash in the pan when it comes to their impact, but this series really should linger with people, it’s definitely the most important work Netflix has funded in a while.
