Serendipity
i needed this movie so badly. as someone who heavily believes in fate, and that everything will always work out the way it’s supposed to, this was the perfect movie for me. post breakup i think i have been looking too hard for someone else to get into a relationship with, but i really just need to trust the process and trust that eventually i will find the right person for me. aiden told me about this movie two days ago, and then today when i was scrolling through prime to see what i wanted to watch (granted, i never watch movies by myself, i only really watch them at social gatherings so the fact i wanted to watch a movie today was already pretty strange). and i randomly came across this movie. i didn’t search for it or anything, it just appeared. lowkey that was a sign i needed this. anyways back to the actual review, i think the story itself is really strong. is it heavily flawed? absolutely. cheating isn’t okay, and they DEFINITELY cheated at the beginning of this movie. could they just have started dating at the beginning of this movie and everything would’ve been fine? also yes but then there wouldn’t be a movie so whatever. also BRING BACK MEN BEING ROMANTIC AND YEARNING. i need a man like jonathan. also the shot of the girl sobbing while trying to light a cigarette with a match in the pouring rain was just so good and relatable. it made me chuckle. i wish the best friends of these two characters would’ve been more developed, but who cares. it was not a perfect movie by any means, but it was perfect for the stage of life im in. also two people meeting while still in relationships and the boy wants to pursue it? more relatable than you would think. yes this is calling out someone. anyways now i have a new outlook on life and i just love this movie so much
