Wonka

GILT. (god i love twinks) this movie truley cements timothee chalamet as my favorite actor. i’ve always felt kind of ashamed to say that he is my favorite out of fear of all the film bros and ballet and opera stans tar and feathering me, but it just simply is true. there is no one that can captivate my attention on film as much as chalamet. as soon as he comes on any film screen i am immediately entranced. this movie really shows the fun side of him, and that he really takes on projects he loves and isn’t just an oscar chaser.  this movie is also my favorite out of the charlie and the chocolate factory cinematic universe. it’s the only one that can hold my attention and not give me nightmares. the music is amazing and i can remember almost every single song, while in the OGs i can only remember the oompa loompa song. (i had no idea that pure imagination is from the og. i genuinely thought it was from wonka. gen alpha moment). i also think the side character in this are so much more compelling than any of the children in the og. maybe charlie and the chocolate factory purists will shoot me over this, but this is my letterboxd and i truly make the rules. TIMOTHEE CHALAMET COVERED IN CHOCOLATE. GOD HE IS SO FINE. i think this is his hottest performance. sue me.  i am also really proud of myself because im trying to get over my fear of watching anything i had originally watched with my ex. because regardless of him, i like this movie. i shouldn’t not watch a movie i enjoy just because i watched it with him originally. i got really sad during moments of this that i knew he really loved, but i shouldn’t deprive myself of timothee chalamet covered in chocolate. im EXTREMELY proud of myself for this step. good job kaelyn.
